形态描述：Rhizomes short, erect, apex densely clothed with dark brown, membranous, linear-lanceolate scales. 形态描述：Usually, the new species is similar to Axyris hybrida but differs from the latter by its densely pubescent perianth, the much longer (0.7-2 mm instead of up to 0.6 mm) central ray of its stellate hairs on stem and branches, and the always small to indistinct pericarp appendices in the upper part of both fruit types. The pericarp surface of the black fruits of A. mira is rugose but without the radially semiconcentric sculpturing present in A. hybrida. Also, there are sometimes sclereids in the pericarps of the brown fruits (in particular in the type specimen).

Basal leaves rosulate; petiole 2-5 mm long, expanded at base and 0.5-1.5 mm wide, cil-iate; leaf blade linear, 4-15 X 0.5-1.5 mm, somewhat fleshy, base attenuate, margin entire, apex with a tuft of hairs, obtuse. Fruiting racemes with 2 or 3 fruits, sometimes fruits solitary. Fruiting ped-icel slender, 3-5 mm long, ascending, glabrous. Flowers not seen. Ovules 10 to 12 per ovary. Fruit linear, 0.7-1.3 cm X ca. 1 mm; valves not torulose; style 0.4-0.7 mm long. Mature seeds not seen. Fruiting June.
