Stipules eventually caducous, ovate or triangular-ovate, 8-9 mm long, 6.5-8.5 mm wide, reddish hyaline, with red venation, herbaceous, weakly or not keeled, glabrous or with few hairs along midrib, margin eciliate or sparsely ciliolate, apex aristate, arista 2-3 mm long, hair-like. Staminate flowers: pedicel greenish, orangered toward junction with flower, 1.2-1.8(-3.1) cm long, glabrous; tepals 4, outer 2 ovate, 1.1-1.8 cm long, 1.1-1.4 cm wide, apex retuse, inner 2 elliptic or narrowly obovate, 1.1-1.8 cm long, 0.9-1.1 cm wide, apex obtuse to retuse; androecium actinomorphic, shortly columnar, ca. 7.5 mm long and thick, stamens ca. 100 or more, yellow, filaments 2.5-3.5 mm long, basally fused into a short androphore, anthers fusiform to obovate, 1.5-4.5 mm long, connective extended, apex acuminate. Carpellate flowers: pedicel greenish, 1.3-1.5 cm long, glabrous; tepals 5, subequal, obovate, 1-1.2 cm long, 0.8-1 cm wide, apex obtuse or retuse; ovary greenish at anthesis, ellipsoid, unequally 3-winged, glabrous, 2-locular; placentae axile, bilamellate; styles 2, yellow, 2-cleft, 5-5.6 mm long, free; stigmas in a strongly spiraled band. Infructescences 17-36 cm long; capsules nodding, unequally 3-winged, abaxial wing narrowly oblong, 17-18 mm long, 8-8.5 mm wide, apex obtuse, lateral wings much smaller, 6.5-7 mm long. Seeds numerous, ca. 0.3 mm long, chalazal end rounded, lip of seed nipple-shaped, micropylar end constricted.

Pistillate flowers: tepals 3, glabrous, outer 2 pink, orbicular, 7-8 mm in diam., inner 1 pinkish, oblong; ovary coniform, ca. 1 cm, glabrous, 3-winged, 1-loculed with parietal placentation; styles 3, free, ca. 1 mm. Fruit a dry capsule, nodding, greenish when fresh and brownish when dry, manifestly crooked, 11-14 mm long, ca. 8-9 mm wide (wings excluded), glabrous; lateral wings 4-5 mm high; abaxial wing 8-8.5 mm high, apex with persistent tepals and styles. Seeds many, brown, ellipsoid or broadly ellipsoid, 0.5-0.6 mm × 0.3-0.35 mm, chalazal end rounded, micropylar end somewhat constricted, outer periclinal walls collapsed in mature seeds; collar cells elongated, straight, nearly rectangular, 10-12 cells in a ring, occupying 1/2 to 1/3 of the seed length; anticlinal walls between the collar cells raised, straight, rarely slightly undulated; testa cell nearly isodiamentric-polygonal, mostly pentagonal and hexagonal, those adjacent to collar cells rarely slightly elongated. Somatic chromosome number, 2n = 30 (Figure 3A).
